Fortcollins Spanish AcademyAs one of Colorado’s largest cities, the population of Fort Collins grows an average of 3% each year. During the last US Census 135,481 residents were counted. Of those, 13,755 called themselves Hispanic or Latino, with 5,711 claiming to speak Spanish in the home. With a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins enjoys a reputation as the cultural capital of northern Colorado. An ideal city for anyone interested in culture, it is especially rich in Hispanic and Latino activities. Fort Collins hosts an annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in its Old Town Square. The fiesta features performances, food and traditional music such as Mariachi and Tejano.
